We all know that Anger is not good but it still comes when there is a situation from environment, family members, friends etc. Lets look onto some effects on our body and mind.
The bad effects of anger on physical health
- Increases cardiovascular problems: Anger results in increasing the heart beat rate, increases breathing rates, increases pressure blood pressure. Prolonged anger can lead to fatal disorders in our body.
- Digestive problems: Prolonged anger can lead to decrease in hunger which in turn leads to disgestive problems like ulcers etc.
- Sleeping problems: Anger mismanagement can lead to sleepless nights. One has to take sleeping pills to force him/her to sleep.
- Muscle pain & headache: As anger increases the blood flow, breath and ultimately our blood pressure, so it directly effects our muscles and other organs through which this blood is flowing. Than is why a person in anger will feel severe headache.
- Increased risky behavior: As to cope with anger, one will be doing some risky behavior like suicides or harming the one who is responsible for the unstability.
The bad effects of anger on our mind
- Increased stress level: As getting angry on others hurts others, this increases the negative vibrations within and thus increases the stress level of that person.
- Less problem solving capability: Due to negative vibrations and unstable mind, one cannot focus on a simple problems and do the things that will inturn create more problems.
- Negative thought becomes natural: Repetative anger increases accumulation of negative thoughts. The person’s trust level on others decreases and thus a cycle of negative thoughts about others and situations becomes normal.
- Heavily increased level of anxiety: This is the reason why some cry after getting angry or yelling at someone.
The bad effects of anger on the environment
Angry is a negative emotion which includes to hurt others either by feelings, by telling mean things about others, or by actions. There is a heating environment and no one will become free to the angry person. A person when sees an angry person, he/she will have a parmanent memory that the person is an angry person and will not become free to him. An environment of unrest and peacelessness will come.
So, keeping these effects in mind, it is concluded that one shouldn’t get angry. One should promise not to get angry in any situation. If a person who gains victory over every angry person, situation and environment, his mind will really be at peace.
Subtle steps to gain victory over anger
- Become sweet in order to overcome anger – The opposite of anger is sweetness. All conflicts are due to the absence of sweetness. So inculcating sweetness within ourselves will very easily gain victory over anger.
- Go off a lot of desire on anything – Yes, for our livelihood, the works that need to be done is ok but too much desire for anything will make you to fall in circumstances that creates anger.
- Do not allow outside germs to enter inside our house – Anger is like a disease. Like covid 19, one who has corona virus will spread the virus to the nearby ones. In the same way, one who is hot from inside, who is in anger, whose vibrations are not stable, will eventually spread the vibrations to the other person. Eg.- The boss scolded me very badly but I cannot scold my boss. I stead, I have kept that frustation inside me and when I returned home, if the food is not good, then I yell at my wife. Or if my children are not studying, I would yell at them to release my frustation. For example: The doctor sanitizes himself/herself after attending any patient. Otherwise the disease that was with the previous patient will spread to the new one. In the same way, the situations faced in the working environment, should be sanitized or ended there only, otherwise it will spread the anger in the home and everyone will be in sorrow.
- Strong consciousness of the present moment – As anger is former within milliseconds so one must be aware of the present time of anger. When you feel like the situation is very unstable and cannot be handled, then relax for a moment from inside. Repeat from inside that ‘I am a peaceful soul, I am the son of the ocean of peace. I cannot become angry. I am the son of ocean of love, so I have to give love to everyone’. And you will see gradually the peacelessness inside you will convert into peace.
- Unlimited awareness – Have an awareness that we are all sons of the supreme soul, the ocean of love. Everyone needs love and respect. Conversation while giving love and respect to the other person will solve any problem at ease. Just try. Give love and respect to any peaceless soul and talk in a respectful manner. The angry person will gradually cool down. Thus you will have an immense peace inside yourself.
- Enjoy every situations – Do not think that why situations always come to me? Situations come to make us strong. When you overcome any situation, you become stronger. Also become a detached observer of the self and the situation. We are all souls. Nothing will happen to souls. But as we are in bodies, so we get afraid when a situation comes. So, remain in soul consciousness and you will not be afraid in any situation and will enjoy in every situation.
- Forgive and forget – When someone does the wrong thing, just forgive and forget the person. You cannot rectify the whole world. Everyone has got his own ways and no one can change him/her. But yes, at some point of time he/she will realize and that will be changing point for him/her. But yelling at someone or getting angry at someone and rectifying the things will not help. Anger have never changed things. But love has definitely changed things.
- Do not have the feeling of doubt on anyone – Everyone will do the right thing according to themselves. But judging themselves according to my thoughts will not help. Accept their views and try to acknowledge them. Doubt and misunderstanding actually spoils the environment and destroys any relationship.
- Ego also destroys the sweetness of any relationship – Ego is not humbleness. Accepting that I know everything and I am always the right. Whereas humbleness or politeness means accepting that someone is better that me. Always bending down to everyone. This really bonds any relationships and give sweetness in relationships. Now, the whole world is going through tough situations and in maximum cases, the reason is lack of love. Ego is also a reason for peacelessness. One must have the divine virtues within himself/herself otherwise there will be clashes between each other and the world will be an unsuitable place to stay.
