Overcoming fear and worry

Fear and worry
Overcome fear and worry

Introduction

We all are fed up with the negative thoughts that come in our mind. All the tension, fear, worries are also linked. So to decrease the negativity within our mind, we take medicines that are prescribed by the psychologists. But those medicines instead of acting into the root cause, supresses the symptoms. That is why when the medications are stopped then the symptoms are again emerged and make problems for that person.

God is the Supreme Surgeon

In devotion, we call the God as ‘Baidyanath‘ that means the Supreme Surgeon. He is the doctor of the inner energy/soul. He gives medicines for the mental illness. He says that the fear’s or worry’s origin is from the sanskars. We fear because we have made the sanskar/habit of worry and fear.

Now to understand sanskar, we have to understand ourselves and how sanskars are actually formed.

We all are souls, an energy, a light that takes the support of a body to perform actions in this world. Our physical body is prepared by the nature in the mother’s womb. But I, the soul enters this body to do karma in this world. Shiv Baba says that we souls come from the incorporeal world to this physical world to play our parts. That is why we take the support of these corporeal bodies to perform actions.

Now souls perform actions through mind and intellect. Mind thinks many things. Intellect decides the perfect thought that needs to be implemented into actions. And when we act through mind and intellect repeatably, it becomes our sanskars/habits. When the sanskars are good, they actually helps us in leading our life. But if we have bad sanskars, then these sanskar becomes an obstacle in the way of our life. So, thought makes us feel, which in turn makes attitude and then it makes actions.

But, the thoughts that emerged in our mind depends on the state of consciousness.

Different states of consciousness

There are 2 States of consciousness:

  1. Body consciousness- In this consciousness, one accepts thyself as the body. For example: Introducing thyselves as a father, teacher, student, an engineer, a doctor, an HOD of certain department are all examples of body consciousness. Those titles are not who we are. Those are the different roles or accomplishments that the soul makes during the life. But those are not our actual identity. Also when we think ourselves as body, any difficulty in our life directly impacts our mind and body. We become attached to our body and so various problems impacts our mind in the form of tension, stress, fear, worry etc. As the body is mortal, staying in body consciousness, will also bring fear and worry of dying. Body consciousness is attachment with the body. That is why it feels disappointed when someone says bad about the self. That is why many vices like Lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego, jealousy etc emerges while remaining in body conciousness. Actions done under the influence of these vices gradually accumulates the account of sin.
  2. Soul consciousness- This consciousness is the highest of all consciousness. One will accept thyself as a saperate entity than the body. He/she will be in the consciousness that the soul and the body are 2 saperate things and it is the soul that performs actions through this body. As a result, the actions that he/she will perform will be very elevated and will be free from vices. All souls are knowledgeable, pure, happy, peaceful, loveful, blissful and powerful. When someone stays in this consciousness, then his actions will naturally based on the qualities of a soul. This consciousness also brings the feeling of some source from which we take all these soul qualities. So, we become so powerful that if there is any upheaval outside, doesn’t create upheaval inside because of the consciousness of saperate entity. You become detached from the body. And so the fear and worry also diminishes. As the soul is immortal, one with the soul consciousness also does not have the fear of worry of dying.

So, Baba says, we should always remain in the consciousness of a soul, that is a saperate entity from the corporeal body. And as such, the thoughts, feelings, attitudes, actions will be based on the qualities of soul and will be divine. As a result, a soul will accumulate the punya ka khata or the account of virtues. This accumulation results in a feeling of happiness and lightness in every actions. That soul becomes free from all obstacles and thus start serving other souls with same virtues. Even the nature starts to co-operate with that soul. All the basic needs are fulfilled by the nature.

Conclusion

So soul consciousness is the basis of all spiritual attainments. Whereas the body consciousness is the foundation of all life problems.
