Understanding Karma:

Karma is a form of energy that flows to our surroundings in the form of thoughts, words and actions. The transferred energy returns back in the form of physical and mental health, familial and financial situations. People eat good foods, do exercises, do pranayams for having a better health, work hard for becoming richer, spend time with families for a healthy family, but in most of the cases, the opposite happens. In most of the cases, there is always a financial shortage problem, the health gets worse, and also familial and relational problems remains forever.

So, what is the reason behind that? Difficult situation comes even if a person works hard and walks on the path of truth. Even every religious scripture, every saint, every priest promote of doing good deeds for a positive outcome. But still outcomes becomes difficult and negative. This is the law of karma.

Let’s understand deeply.

Do good to get good:

First things first. Let’s understand the doer of the karma. It is the soul that does karma and not the body. Soul is imperishable and takes rebirth even after leaving the perishable body. It is the soul that does karma through the perishable body. Therefore, the soul does unlimited karmas in many bodies and receives outcomes in the present birth based on those unlimited karmas.

But a weird thing happens after the soul leaves the body. The soul forgets his previous karmas after leaving the body and it is inevitable. It is the law of nature to forget every past karmas. Only the habits developed by those past karmas are carry forwarded.

Therefore, even if the soul does good deeds in the present, the outcomes might be negative based on the previous sinful habits formed by sinful karmas. It might also be possible that even if the soul does sinful deeds in the present, the outcomes might be positive and cooperative based on the previous positive karmas. Therefore, it is said to do good deeds so as to get better outcomes not only in the present birth but also in the future births. Our life is not limited to the present birth but consists of many births and the comfortness in life is decided by the unlimited karmas we do in many births.

Now, karma is of 3 types. Akarma, Sath-karma, Vikarma.

Akarma:

It is a type of karma where the karma results to no outcome. This type of karma happens only in the Golden age (Satyug/ Swarg/ Heaven/ Bahist etc.). Due to the soul consciousness stage of mind and due to the presence of unlimited resources there, the desire of getting outcomes and comfortness ends.

Sath-karma:

It is a positive karma and results to accumulation of blessings. In this type of karma, positive results are inevitable. Doing sath-karma also results to happiness and inner contentment in life. Here positive accounts of karma are created which is called karma sambandh (relation under karma)

Vikarma:

All the karmas that are done under the influence of vices are called vikarma or sinful karma. The vices include Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment, Ego, Jealousy, Laziness etc. Here, every karma done results to negative outcomes both physically and mentally. Physical outcomes may include conflicts, battles, fights, wars, hatred for someone, high blood pressure, Insomnia, loss of appetite, obesity, etc. Mental outcomes includes tension, stress, restlessness, depression, losing self control, losing self confidence, will power, etc. Here karma results to karma bandhan (bondage under karma).

Example of these karmas:

Sath-karms: We meet and interact with a friend. This starts a relationship. This is called karam relationship which remains neutral. We met everyday and spent our valuable time together. This makes our relationship better. We inspire and motivate each other. We help each other when in need. This makes sath-karma and thus accumulates our positive karmic accounts.

Vikarma: But let’s say due to some reason, we had some serious argument. We became very unhappy seeing each other’s behavior. We lose each other’s trust. Now, if we meet again, maybe we will not interact from our heart. If we meet again, maybe we wont talk with each other. Therefore, the present behavior actually affects the next meeting. This is called karam bandhan (bondage of karma). It is understood that the karma was done under the influence of anger (which is a vice). Therefore these types of karma actually puts our mind and heart inside the bondage of vicious habits.

Akarma: Akarma actually never happens in this vicious world. Every time we do karma we desire for an outcome or else we are automatically rewarded. So Akarma actually happens in the Golden Age (Satyug/ Paradise/ Heaven/ Vahisth etc.) where there the desire of getting rewarded ends. There the people are soul conscious and thus this desire actually ends.
People say that charity and donations are included in Akarma. But, if thought deeply, the outcomes and rewards are automatically provided to the person doing donations and charitable works. It is the law of nature. What you sow, so you reap. So, Akarma is not possible.

Deep Secrets of Karma:

Karma is the exchange of energies between souls. These energy exchanges can continue for many births. Let’s say, if ‘A’ had a clash with ‘B’ and ‘A’ was responsible for giving sorrow to ‘B’ then at some moment of time in future or at some future birth, ‘B’ will also give sorrow to ‘A’ unknowingly. Here, ‘A’ and ‘B’ are different souls playing their individual parts in their respective bodies. The same soul may play their parts in different bodies (costumes) in their different births. This is the beauty of nature.

Therefore, every person meeting and interacting with others have not met for the first time but are exchanging each other’s energies based on their previous energy exchanges. If we get continuous pain and discomfort from others then they are returning the same that we have given them in the past births. That is totally correct. This exchange of energies continuously happen until someone in that cycle of karma, breaks and starts to interact positively and exchange positive energies.

We can not change our past but can definitely decide to change our present by behaving and interacting positively. This single change will not only change our present but also accumulate positive accounts of karmas for the future. Therefore, let’s behave and exchange positive energies like love, compassion, forgiveness, etc. instead of hatred, sorrow, anger, heartlessness, etc. Therefore, let’s understand these secrets of karma and let’s join our hand for making a better world.

Conclusion:

We have learned and understood different types of karmas and their implications on our life. We understood the deep secrets of karma and learned how our present exchange of energies actually create our present and future.
